Terms of Service

Pelan Pelan is an honest, personal project. These terms are kept as simple as possible. If you have any questions, just email tuur@pelanpelan.ink.

1. About Pelan Pelan

Pelan Pelan is een maandelijks snailmail abonnement, aangeboden door Leeuwenlander (eenmanszaak), gevestigd te Groningen, Nederland. KvK-nummer: 83748237. BTW-nummer: NL002833065B05.

2. The subscription

What you receive

Every month you receive a handmade envelope containing:

A personal letter (A4, double-sided, vintage paper)
A photo card with poem and QR code to a spoken version
An Indonesian recipe from mama (waterproof paper)
A vinyl sticker and wax seal

Price

Netherlands: €15.99 per month including 9% VAT
Worldwide: €18.67 per month (excl. VAT · worldwide) including postage

Prices include VAT where applicable. Payments are processed via Stripe.

Start date

Your subscription starts upon receipt of the first payment. The first letter will be sent in the current or next mailing cycle.

3. Payment

Payments are automatically collected monthly via Stripe
Subscribers can manage their subscription, payment method and invoices themselves via the Stripe customer portal
Accepted payment methods: credit card (Visa, Mastercard), SEPA direct debit, iDEAL (NL only)
In case of a failed payment you will receive an email and a new attempt will be made
In case of persistent failed payments the subscription will be temporarily paused

4. Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time
Send an email to tuur@pelanpelan.ink or use the customer portal
Cancellation takes effect before the next billing date
Periods already paid are not refunded
There are no cancellation fees and no minimum term

5. Delivery

Letters are sent monthly via PostNL
Netherlands: 1–3 working days after dispatch
International: 1–3 weeks depending on destination
Pelan Pelan is not liable for delays caused by PostNL or foreign postal services
If a letter is not received: send an email and we will send a replacement

6. Address change

It is your responsibility to notify us of an address change in time via tuur@pelanpelan.ink. Letters sent to an old address will not be refunded.

7. Intellectual property

The content of the letters, poems, photos and recipes is the property of Pelan Pelan / Leeuwenlander. You may share the content for personal use, but may not use it commercially, reproduce or publish it without permission.

The QR code in the letter leads to a private audio file. This file may not be shared, recorded or redistributed.

8. Liability

Pelan Pelan provides a personal, artisanal service. We are not liable for:

Delay or loss by postal services
Damage resulting from the use of recipes (always check for allergies)
Technical failures of third parties (Stripe, PostNL)

Our total liability is in all cases limited to the amount of one monthly subscription.

9. Right of withdrawal

Under European consumer law you have a 14-day cooling-off period after taking out a subscription. Because the letter is a personalised product made specifically for you, the right of withdrawal lapses once production of your letter has started.

If you have just taken out a subscription and no letter is in production yet, please contact us directly at tuur@pelanpelan.ink.

10. Gift subscriptions

Gift subscriptions are sent to the address you provide. The payer remains responsible for the monthly payment. Cancellation of a gift subscription follows the same procedure as a regular subscription.

11. Changes

We reserve the right to change these terms. For material changes we will notify subscribers at least 30 days in advance by email. Continued use of the subscription after that date constitutes acceptance of the new terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the district of Noord-Nederland.
